The Lord's Resurrection & the Promise of Life Everlasting
Beloved,
On this holy Sabbath day, our hearts turn to the cornerstone of our faith β the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Because He lives, the grave is not the end. Death has been conquered, and the promise of life everlasting is extended to all who are in Christ. We pray this message fills you with living hope today.
"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." β Revelation 1:18 (KJV)
π This Sabbath's Message
Life After Death
π Key Scriptures:
1 Corinthians 15:20-23 (KJV)
"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming."
1 Corinthians 15:45, 51-54 (KJV)
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit... Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory."
John 11:25-26 (KJV)
"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"
Romans 6:9 (KJV)
"Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him."
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV)
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Revelation 22:12-16 (KJV)
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."
Beloved, the resurrection is not a metaphor β it is a living promise. Christ, the "firstfruits," has already risen, and as in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive. One day, "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye," the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and this mortal shall put on immortality. Death is swallowed up in victory. And the Lord who conquered the grave is coming quickly, with His reward, to give every man according as his work shall be. Hold fast to this hope β and live today as one striving to receive God's eternal reward by keeping his commandments.
